The 4th Annual Williamsburg Live Songwriter Competition (WLSC2007) is both a songwriting and live event competition. It is produced by JezebelMusic.com, an independent music promotion company based in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
This year's dates will be held at the following venues:
11/03 - Laila Lounge, 7:45pm, FREE
11/04 - Union Pool, 7:45pm, FREE
11/05 - The Trash Bar, 7:45pm, FREE
11/06 - The Lucky Cat, 7:45pm, FREE
11/07 - Laila Lounge, 7:45pm, FREE
11/08 - Matchless, 7:45pm, FREE
11/09 - Galapagos Art Space, SEMIFINALS, 7:45pm, $7 (With performances by Lowry, Born at Sea , and Kat Hayman after the competition.)
11/10 - Luna Lounge,
FINALS, 7:45pm, $7 (With performances by The Lisps, The Waylons, and Takenobu after the competition.)
The prizes are:
1st: $4000 and $500 of studio time at Engine Room Audio.
2nd: $750
3rd: $250.

All finalists will be featured in a compilation CD to be released by JezebelMusic.com.
The WLSC2007 is open to amateur and professional songwriters who have sold less than 250,000 CD units over the past five years. Entrants must submit one original song, five minutes in length or less. Entrants must be the singer of their own original song both on the submitted recording and for the live competition.
You don't need a professional recording. Entries will be judged on originality, music and melody, composition and lyrics.
150 contestants will be chosen to play in the Live Competition that will occur in New York City during eight consecutive nights of music at eight different venues. Judges at the live competition will come from industry organizations such as BMI, Atlantic, Columbia, and other notable and independent record labels, journalists, and musicians.
Over 1,000 people will attend the live performances.
